Operations Associate
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Operations Associate provides support and leadership in operations and deposits to ensure accuracy and efficiency within the bank. They will be expected to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner. The Operations Associate will perform various operational and deposit duties for the bank and serve in a rotating support role for various assigned tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree (preferred) with 2-4 years of financial services experience; OR,
- High School Diploma/GED with 5-8 years of financial services experience; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Bank Management
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Coordinate internal and external customer service activities related to the operations and accounting support functions
- Balance and reconcile the general ledgers
- Monitor Exception Item Module (EIM), including non-sufficient funds, return items, and stop pays
- Process large item endorsements
- Complete check processing and adjustments
- Process collection items
- Conduct ACH and ATM error resolution
- Assist with electronic banking services
- Complete wires, cash management, and EFT management
- Assist with OFAC, 314(a) processing, and fraud reporting
- Issue cashier’s checks
- Process change of address requests
- Help customers access their safe deposit boxes
- Assist customers in closing deposit accounts, Visa debit cards, and safe deposit boxes
- Delete closed safe deposit boxes monthly
- Review past due safe deposit boxes weekly
- Review the expired stop pay report weekly
- Complete research for customers
- Process check orders
- Order and reorder Visa debit cards
- Review hot card entries for closed accounts monthly
- Review closed temporary cards monthly
- Balance cash drawer daily; count, package and maintain currency and coin in teller drawer while taking into consideration drawer limits; turn in excess currency and coin to the vault
- Assist customers with resetting internet banking passwords
- Provide backup for incoming calls to the bank and direct them to the appropriate staff
- Provide efficient and courteous service while cross-selling products and services to generate new business for the bank
- Actively participate in customer, community, and public relation activities to increase the bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities
- Comply with bank policies, operations, and security procedures
- Maintain customer confidence and protect the bank operations by keeping information confidential
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Responsible to the bank’s Operations Officer for the successful performance of assigned responsibilities. Also has key relationships with the bank’s Director of Deposits and the bank’s Chief Information Officer.
- Seeks assistance and advice from other bank personnel as needed, to ensure the successful performance of assigned responsibilities.
METHODS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Through both oral and written reports to immediate and department supervisors.
