Alerts

Alerts is a free service we offer through Online Banking that lets you monitor your account activity and balance through email or text messages.  One text or email could potentially save you an overdraft fee or give you an early warning if your identity has been stolen!

Getting Started

You will need to have Online Banking access in order to use Alerts.  If you have not yet signed up, please click on the "Online Banking Enrollment" link at the right and follow those instructions to enroll.  The Alerts service is now available for both Personal and Business users!

Using Alerts

1. Log in to Online Banking as usual, then click on ALERTS.
  • For Personal users, click on ALERTS in the brown menu bar:

#

  • For Business users, select Alerts under the ACCOUNT SERVICES menu:

#

2. A separate Alerts window will open.  Click on Messenger to proceed.

#

3. From the Messenger window, you can set up new alerts and come back later to view, change, or delete existing alerts.

#

  • To receive alerts by email, verify your email address whenever you set up a new alert. The email address you gave us when signing up for Online Banking will automatically be filled in, but you can change it at any time.

  • To receive alerts by text message, type in your cell phone number (10 digits only) followed by your service provider's format (see list below).
    Example: 4025551234@vtext.com
AT&T: @txt.att.net or @mms.att.net

Alerts FAQs

Are there fees to use Alerts?
No, Bruning State Bank charges no fees to use Alerts.  You can set up as many alerts as you would like for FREE!  For text messages, please note that standard text messaging rates from your wireless service provider will still apply.

Do I have to be enrolled in Online Banking to use Alerts?

Yes, you set up and manage your alerts within Online Banking.

What accounts can Alerts be used for?

You will be able to set up alerts for any accounts that you can currently access within Online Banking.

What if I made a typo in my email address or cell phone number when setting up a new alert?

You won't receive your alerts until you correct it. If an alert happens to go to the wrong person, it will not contain enough information for that person to identify you. Neither your account number nor your full name will be in the message.
