“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

This past weekend I thoroughly annoyed my kids by watching one of my favorite Christmas movies, A Christmas Carol.  Of course, the one I grew up watching was made by MGM in 1938 and the girls couldn’t quite see the beauty of it, immediately deeming it “boring” and going off to do something more exciting.  The oldest one was heard to say as she walked towards her room, “it’s not even in color!”

But regardless of what you think of the movie or the book, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has a wonderful message of charity and fellowship not just during the holiday season, but also year-round.  It got me thinking about the various activities Bruning Bank and its employees have done this year to help their communities, as well as some things we are currently doing during this holiday season, which you’ve probably seen either on our website or social media platforms.  From sitting on various boards and helping organizations with different projects, to donating time and resources to local charities and causes, it is clear that when you come to work for Bruning Bank—community is important.

Please check out one of our latest posts for ways that Bruning Bank is helping in your area.  We strongly believe in all of the organizations we are supporting but there are so many admirable charities and organizations in Central Nebraska and the surrounding area, that we’re sure however you end up giving, it will be a worthy cause.

We thank you for your generosity and good will, and wish you a Merry Christmas!
